So chester's surprise party was a hit! He was so surprised! Xavier was the life of the party, of course. Strange how parties change when there's a baby around...

The day has come...

Well, the day is here. No, I'm not referring to Chester's b-day, which too has come and without any "PAPA" I might add! But the day I am referring to is a day which I have long feared. Xavier can now officially get into anything. This morning I looked over to see that he has removed the fireplace screen that currently serves as the only barrier between him and Chester's wine bottles crashing down! Oh my! he is doing it again!... ok I am back. Although I have been mentally preparing for this day, I did not realize it could come SO soon...

Say Happy Birthday PA PA!

Been trying to teach the baby to say PAPA as a birthday surprise for chester, but somewhere in there "PaPa" turned into making spit bubbles and that was more exciting apparently! There goes my free, yet *priceless* gift...

scary realization!

I just came to the very scary realization that eventually- no make that VERY SOON- nothing short of a cage is going to keep this baby from getting into any and everything he wants to! Already I have to set up little forts of chairs and laundry baskets and boxes to keep him from tearing the place up. For the moment I am halting all encouragement of this whole learning-to-walk thing as I can only imagine the contraptions I would have to set up then.

hmmmmm. maybe some barbed wire and electric fences... {jking}
